Barrio

Last night was spent chatting and sipping champagne and eating lots and lots and lots of new and interesting combinations of food, courtesy of the great people at Barrio. Remember the pop-up restaurant that we had the blog giveaway for? Well, I trekked out to Boston yesterday to attend, and I was not disappointed. What a fun experience!

As a bonus, I was able to bring along my good friend and fellow foodie, Caroline! I do not get to see her all that often, so this was a special treat that really added to the night. She got all dressed up, as I knew she would, and so we had a fancy night of curls and lipstick and dresses. My favorite kind, frankly.

Marinated goat cheese, quinoa, pickled cucumber on crostini.
Hummus, blue cheese, cantaloupe on crostini.
Fresh peas with mint, poached egg, sesame greens.

Entree: Skirt steak with chimichurri.
Fried mushroom, greens, and pickled pepper accents.
Dessert: Mousse!
Chocolate orange mousse, salted caramel, croutons, fresh rosemary.
































Course after course and glass after glass, it was such a decadent whirlwind! I am very grateful to have been invited to be a part of it, and I thank Chef Wheeler del Torro and his team immensely for the invitation!
