Women and Food Project

Remember when my dear, sweet friend Sarah (of Anselblue and Sarah in the Kitchen) came and took fun pictures of me in my kitchen? And we chatted while I tried out some new cupcake ideas? A little Earl Grey glaze, some candied lemon slices... And I ended up with the lovely specimens below (except these sorry excuses for photos obviously are nothing like the masterpieces she'll be showing).

Well, all of that was for a gallery show at the ECA+ space in Easthampton that will be opening in September called Women and Food.

"The photographic exhibit by Sarah Platanitis features a dozen women, the majority from Western Massachusetts. Participants range from distinguished chefs, urban gardeners, and cookbook publicists to comfort food makers and chocolatiers.

Gallery visitors will see documentary-style photographs and an inter-media approach to storytelling that includes print interview excerpts and QR codes that link to audio stories and video from the project. An interactive gallery module will invite visitors to contribute their own food-related memories on recipe cards to become part of the exhibit."

In more fabulous news, the show's been getting a fair bit of press lately, like the piece below from the Republican. So I sure do hope I'll see a few of you at the opening on Sept. 14th so we can say hello!
